Wine grape varieties

    The Vines
  • Grenache
This sweet grape is one of the most planted in the world. It produces wines that are fruity, full in flavor, and have overtones of spice. The wines are light in color and are often found blended with other varieties although there are some excellent vintages in the market.
  • Mataro (Mourvèdre)
A late ripening red grape variety, its wines are medium bodied, deeply colored and full of fruit (cherry and berries). It can improve for up to 10 years when stored properly.
  • Shiraz
A versatile red it produces wines that richly repay cellaring. Australia's greatest and longest-lived red wine.
  • Doradillo
Grown principally in the Riverland for distillation into brandy and for the production of sherry.
  • Malaga (Tokay)
Its extremely ripe raisined grapes are used to make fortified tokay.
  • Trebbiano (Ugni Blanc)
The Trebbiano grape is also known as Ugni Blanc. It is used for making wines as well as brandy and Cognac. High acid, light body, neutral aromas, low sugar. Great for cooking.
